4th Of July Nail Design | Show Your Patriotism With This Easy Flag Design
One thing that can’t be taken away from us is our sense of enthusiasm or intense excitement whenever an occasion to show our patriotism comes. We just love the parades, cocktails, fireworks, barbecues, picnics, dressing up among many other things. I personally love patriotic occasions like these simply because we can enjoy a day off from our busy schedules and just be with our family.
This election wasn’t entirely made up of fun activities but it was an occasion for us to really show our loyalty to America! The results may have shaken up the entire country but stay strong and continue to support the USA with this cool and easy 4th of July nail design!
What You’ll Need For This Patriotic 4th Of July Nail Design:
- China Glaze Hey Sailor
- OPI Alpine Snow
- OPI Keeping Suzi At Bay
- Salon Perfect Boom Boom Boom
- Salon Perfect Spec-Tacular
- Salon Perfect White Out Nail Art Polish
- Nail Vinyls
- Tenoverten Base Coat
- Seche Vite Topcoat
- Formula X Wham!
- dotting tool
Step 1: Base Coat
Apply Tenoverten base coat to protect your natural nails. You should always apply a base coat before moving on to nail polishes. This clear layer will help protect your nails from being damaged by the chemicals in polishes.
Step 2: Blue Polish
Take your OPI ‘Keeping Suzi At Bay’ polish and apply it on your middle and pinky nails. Like the American flag, this will be the base for the stars (or variations of them) later on.
Step 3: Star Options
There are three different ways to create the stars part of this 4th of July nail design. This first one simply uses ‘Formula X Wham’Â white or silver glitter polish to represent the stars. The embedded glitters will look like stars in the sky!
You can also make white dots using ‘OPI Alpine Snow’ polish with a dotting tool. This is the most perfect design to recreate for novice nail art enthusiasts.Â
Or, you can actually paint the stars on your nail. Starting from one corner of the nail, make a few V shapes with an ‘OPI Alpine Snow’ polish to make a partial star. You can also make different sizes of the stars like the one shown in the picture.

Step 4: Red & White Stripes
Paint the ring finger with China Glaze’s ‘hey sailor’ polish. After the polish completely dries, apply three nail vinyls (or striping tapes) horizontally. Paint over the vinyls with OPI Alpine Snow, then while it’s still wet, peel off the tape to reveal the stripe design!
Step 5: Festive Glitter
For your thumb, index, and pinky nails, alternate the base colors with red (China Glaze ‘Hey Sailor’ polish), white (OPI ‘Alpine Snow’) and blue (OPI ‘Keeping Suzi At Bay’), and then add in some festive glitter. Silver glitter works, too!
Step 6: Seal In Design
As do other nail art designs, applying a fast drying, clear top coat will work wonders for the longevity of your 4th of July nail design! After all, we don’t really know ’til how long we’ll have to support America.
And that’s it!
