Essential Oils Benefits
How to grow nails naturally? It’s in the essential oils you massage on your nails!
In this tutorial, ShortNcute Nails used 4 different types of oils. These oils have different benefits that , when combined, promote healthier nails and, yes, skin.
Olive oil is packed with antioxidants which help tremendously with nail growth. It also protects and moisturizes your skin.
Almond oil, on the other hand, prevents breakage and brittleness. It’s also non-greasy so you don’t have to worry about feeling sticky after applying your DIY cuticle oil.
To help heal any cuts you get during a manicure, you’ll need to use some Vitamin E oil. This thick oil not only moisturizes your skin, it also helps to heal your papercuts faster.
Your hands have tons of bacteria so your cuticle will need to have antibacterial qualities as well. The best type of oil for this is coconut oil. It acts as a moisturizer and an antiseptic at the same time.
In addition to the essential oils mentioned, you can also add lemon juice to your homemade cuticle oil. Packed with vitamin C, it helps strengthen your nails and brighten them up at the same time. It also revives your skin making it look young and fresh.
Step 1: Prepare Your Bottles
You can use either an empty dropper or an old nail polish bottle to store your cuticle oil.
Erase the text on the nail polish by rubbing it using nail polish remover. To dissolve the remaining polish from inside the bottle, fill it up with the said solution and shake it until the remnants completely disappear.
Step 2: Rally The Oils and Mix Them All Up
Now that you’ve got all your essential oils, you just have to combine everything in a bowl. Since most of them are liquid, you won’t have much of a problem mixing them up. Although coconut oil would still be in its solid state, it easily melts.
If you would like to mix more, you can refer to this guide regarding the amount of oil you should include in your mixture.
Step 3: Transfer into The Bottle
Onced mixed together, transfer the oil and lemon mixture into the bottle that you prepared beforehand. Use a funnel to avoid any messes.
After mixing everything up, you can add some perfume to keep your hands smelling great throughout the day!
Step 4: Dab Some On Your Nails
Now your DIY cuticle oil is ready to help promote healthy nail growth! Using the dropper or polish brush, dab on the mixture directly on top of your nails.
Here’s a little tip: The dropper leaves a larger drop of oil on your nails compared to the polish brush. With the common nail polish brush, you’ll have to apply the oil a couple of times for full coverage, similar to when you apply polish on your nails.
Step 5: Massage The Oil On Your Nails
How to grow nails naturally depends on how you apply the cuticle oils as well. In order for them to be strong and healthy, you have to massage the oil on all your nails. It won’t just be healing your nails, it will also help make your skin glow!
