DIY Cute Nautical Nail Art Design Perfect for Summer
Cute And Fashionable Summer Nails
When you decide to have a nautical outfit, don’t forget to complete the getup by painting your nails with the same design. So grab those nail polishes that represent the nautical color schemes. Don’t forget to add an anchor as it is a must for this theme. In this tutorial, you will know how to mix and match colors to have a chic look for the summer.
What you will need:
- base coat
- fast drying top coat
- white nail polish
- light blue polish
- metallic gold nail polish
- clear nail polish
- coral nail polish
- gold microbeads/caviar beads
- gold stud
- dotting tool
- masking tape
- tweezers
- flat nail art brush
- liner nail art brush
- nail polish remover
Instructions:
Step 1. Base Coat
Apply a base coat to protect your natural nails. Base coat prevents your nails from staining plus it helps prolong the life of your manicure.
Step 2. Base Color Application
Paint your index and pinky nails with a white nail polish for the base color. Give it a few minutes to dry. In case you get any on your skin, you can always clean it up quickly by using nail brush or  nail polish remover. Apply a layer of fast drying top coat to dry it completely.
Step 3. Stripe on Index and Pinky Nails Procedure
a. Stripe on Index and Pinky Nails
Use a masking tape and cut into thin stripes. Securely press it on your nails. Tip: You can use actual striping tape or blue painters tape.
 b. Blue Nail Polish Applicaton
Apply a blue nail polish on the free spaces. While the blue nail polish is still wet, remove the the tape using tweezers. Clean up any excess using a brush dipped in a nail polish remover.
c. Metallic Gold Line Application
Outline the blue stripes with a metallic gold nail polish using a liner nail art brush. Note: Do the same thing on your pinky but using a coral nail polish instead of blue.
Step 4. Anchor Nail Design
a. Light Blue Nail Polish application
Paint your nail with a light blue nail polish for the base color. Add a layer of clear nail polish to help adhere he microbeads to the nail.
b. Anchor design
Place the microbeads on your nails to form an anchor. Tip: Pick up the micro by adding a little amount of clear nail polish on the tip of the dotting tool.
Step 5. Ships Wheel Design
Paint your nail with a coral nail polish followed by layer of clear nail polish. In making the ship wheel design, start by putting a gold stud at the center of your nail. Add microbeads around the gold stud and then add lines of beads coming outwards from the middle. Finish by adding a big circle. Finally, apply a fast drying top coat to all of your nails to seal in your design.
And that’s it!
