Classy Negative Space Nails For Date Night
I love experimenting new designs whenever I go on a date and negative space nails are my favorite kinds to work on! I can try different colors, stencils and even tapes depending on my mood for the day.
Date nights for example, make me want to keep things classy. So what’s a more classy color scheme than black and white? Of course, I wouldn’t want to wear plain black and white nail polish, so some chic negative space nails will do the trick! They will do nicely with my little black dress and some smokey makeup!
Negative space nails design is subtle enough to actually show my artistry as a nail tech. It’s not too loud and intimidating but still maintains a sophisticated look that I want to go for.

For the negative space nails, you will need the following:
Step 1: Put peel−off base coat
Protect your fingers from getting messy by applying a peel−off base coat on the skin just around the nails. Having pretty negative space nails mean there is no unsightly polish ruining the nail art. It’s a much easier means of cleaning up the nail art compared with having to use a cotton bud and acetone.
Step 2: Draw white line
On the left most portion of your nail, place a coat of black nail polish. If the color is not vibrant enough, you can add another coat or two. Don’t fret if the line doesn’t look too straight though. Just make sure it’s not way too crooked.
Step 3: Two black lines in
On the lower part of nail, draw a black line. Think French tip only this time, you’re using black nail polish. On the upper part of the nail, also apply a line using a black nail polish. Apply two to three coats if one isn’t bright enough.
Step 4: Apply top coat, remove peel−off
Do the final touch for this negative space nails by applying the top coat. This will protect and keep the design shiny. Also, take the peel−off coat.
Step 5: Try another variation
Now follow the same instructions in the first four steps on a different finger but you can play around with the design. The fun thing about negative space nails is that you have the power to experiment on the design you want.
