While every witch and wizard were worried about Voldemort’s rise to power in the Harry Potter world, some of the younger ones were still able to bring a boatload of laughs and a lot of mischief. Such as the Weasley twins who even opened their own joke shop despite the dark times they were facing.
It’s very fitting then that they were the ones who passed the Marauder’s Map on to Harry, not knowing the history or even the future use of the magical map to The Chosen One.

What you’ll need to make this fun Harry Potter world inspired nail art:
- Clear base coat
- White nail polish
- Nude nail polish
- Matte Top Coat
- Black acrylic Paint
- Detail brush
- Gel-look top coat
Step 1: Cover All Your Bases
After putting a base coat on your nails to strengthen them, coat all your nails with a white polish as a base. This will help serve as a canvas for the design that you are about to do.
Step 2: Create The Paper Texture
When the white base is completely dry, dab on some nude colored nail polish. It doesn’t have to be applied on the entire nail. The messier it will be, the better. This will help create the old paper look that the Marauder’s Map has.
Step 3: Complete the Antique Paper Look For This Harry Potter World Worthy Nail Design
Complete the antique paper look by dabbing on some more white polish on your nail. Mix it with the nude, and voila! You’ve got yourself the paper base for your Marauder’s Map!
Don’t forget to apply a matte top coat as a base for the acrylic paint to be used in the next steps.
Step 4: I Am Up To No Good!
Now it’s time to take your oath!
Using a detail brush, write an ingenious spell for the map on your nail. Carefully paint on “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good” using some black acrylic paint on your nail.
Step 5: Finish With Footprints
The most distinct use of the Marauder’s Map is that it can detect people walking around Hogwarts. Footprints literally move around the map with names of the witch or wizard that owns them. Make your Harry Potter world inspired nail art even more fun by painting on some footsteps.
You can also add the Deathly Hallows sign on the corner of your nails to give it an even more interesting look.
