And they’re not as hard and expensive as you think!
How To Make Your Manicure Last Longer | Follow These Simple Steps
Knowing how to make your manicure last longer also requires you to keep your nails and cuticles as healthy as possible.
I’ve shared several ways on how to get your nails to grow fast and strong in various posts. Regularly following those tips plus following these simple steps might just help your manicure last more than a week!
Follow these simple steps the next time you put on a fresh coat of nail polish!
Step 1: Take Care Of Your Cuticles
When getting a manicure, you have to make sure your cuticles are taken care of. The small strip of skin naturally grows when your nails do. Instead of scraping or cutting them off using clippers, push them back using a cuticle pusher.
There are a lot of different kinds of pushers. The rubber tipped one does the best job without scraping or damaging your nails.
Step 2: Remove Oils
Before you start applying anything, remove all excess oils from your nails. There are several products that serve this purpose. However, simple rubbing alcohol can also do the job.
Step 3: Never Forget The Base Coat
If you want your manicure to last longer and keep your nails healthy at the same time, apply a healthy dose of base coat on your nail bed before the nail polish. This will help protect your cuticles and your nails from constant application of nail polish.
Step 4: Apply Nail Polish Evenly
After the base coat, you can now put on whatever color you want on your nails!
When applying the polish on your nails, try to do so as evenly as possible. If you can’t get the desired opacity on the first coat, apply a second, and if necessary, a third one.
Step 5: Clean Cuticles
After getting the desired effect, clean any excess polish from your cuticles and around the edges of your nails.
To do this, use an acrylic paint brush dipped in nail polish remover to take out the excess polish without damaging your nail polish.
Step 6: Always Apply A Topcoat
For added protection from wear and tear, add a layer of clear top coat. Do this to seal in the design of your nail art or just to give your nail polish that attractive shine.
Wasn’t that super easy? Also, don’t forget to keep your nails strong and healthy in between manicures!
