Get Gorgeous Matte Nails With Eyeshadow Nail Polish
I love buying different shades of lacquer but sometimes, I can’t find the exact color I want the most. I end up settling for the shade closest to what I’m looking for. So I figured, why not make my own customized nail polish instead? If you’ve got some extra eyeshadow pigment (or any powdered pigment) lying around, then you can follow these steps to create your very own eyeshadow nail polish!
What you’ll need to create your won eyeshadow nail polish:
- Old eyeshadow palette or pigments in the shade you love
- Clear polish
- Acrylic brush or stick
- Mixing bowl
Step 1: Pick Out Eyeshadow Pigment
The first step to creating a customized eyeshadow nail polish is to choose the pigment color from your collection. You can use broken eyeshadow palettes or the ones you haven’t been using that much. You can also get pigments of your favorite color.
Tip: use mineral pigments for its finer texture, it makes for better color.
Step 2: Eyeshadow Powder
Once you’ve got your eyeshadow color, scrape the powder into a mixing bowl. You should be able to come up with at least a spoonful of powder. Pour it into a small pigment jar.
To make the powder, try putting the eyeshadow palette in a clear Ziploc bag and crush using the other end of your acrylic brush. Once it’s fine enough, cut a small opening on the edge of the bag to pour into the container.
Step 3: Mix With Clear Polish
With a powder already in the jar, mix in the clear polish of your choice. You don’t need a precise amount, just make sure that the pigment gets wet enough to resemble regular nail polish.
Step 4: Apply On Nails
Using an acrylic brush, paint the eyeshadow polish on your nails! It will most likely give you a matte finish, which I absolutely love. However, if you prefer a more glossy look, simply apply a clear topcoat.
