For nail art lovers everywhere, having a less than perfect glitter manicure can be heartbreaking. That’s why it’s only right for me to share this simple hack to apply glitter nail polish perfectly on your nails!

Step 1. Protect Your Nails
I always tell everyone interested in nail art proper prepping will save their lives. Nail art may look great but if you don’t clean and buff your nails properly, you run the risk of damaging your nails.
To further protect your nails from weakening and drying, apply a base coat. Since glitter is pretty much hard to take off, apply a latex barrier around your nails. This will make cleaning up easier later on.
Step 2. Use a Sponge

Instead of applying the glitter nail polish straight from the brush, dab the glitter polish on the edge of a triangle makeup sponge and then dab the sponge on your nail. You can start in the middle, working your way down to the sides of your nails.
Make sure that you have all your bases covered. When you’re satisfied with the coverage, peel off the latex barrier to get rid of any excess glitters.
Step 3. Protect Your Glitter

Finally, once you’ve found the consistency you want, apply a fast-drying topcoat on your glitter nail polish. This will keep the design from chipping off.
