Not a big fan of long nails? Then you should go for square nails! You don’t even have to go to a salon to get them, just follow these steps to get perfectly shaped nails.
Learn How To Get Square Nails With This Easy Tutorial
If you prefer to maintain shorter nails but still want your manicure to have character, try getting square nails. They’re short and sweet but look great with polish.
Although I adore stiletto or almond nails, there are days when I prefer short nails. They’re perfect for casual days and also for younger ladies. Even guys can sport this nail shape, too!
What you’ll need to get square nails:
- Revlon Create-A-Shape 2-in-1 Nail Clipper
- Nail file
- Cuticle oil
Step 1: Cut Into the Desired Shape
Cut a straight line on your nail using the straight side of the 2-in-1 nail clipper. If you don’t have this kind of clipper, you can still use the regular curved one but make sure that you create a straight line when clipping.
You can choose to clip your nails short or leave a little space for any nail art design you plan to do.
Step 2: File Edges
Clipping your nails may end up with sharp edges. Use a nail file to blunt the edges. However, make sure that you don’t file too much to keep the shape of the square nails.
Step 3: Moisturize Your Square Nails
After wiping off any dust from the nail file, apply a small amount of nourishing oil on your cuticles. You can buy a ready-made product or create your own oil using various essential oils. This will keep your nails strong and healthy.
If you’re about to create a new nail art design, apply a base coat instead and proceed with your manicure.
Now you can put on your favorite nail polish to your square nails!
